About the Program
EcoLab will be held from March 23–29 at the Core Facilities laboratories of Nazarbayev University. The program aims to cultivate scientific skills, strengthen research-based thinking, and prepare students for the academic rigor of university life.
  • Program Overview
EcoLab is a 7-day intensive program conducted in small groups of up to 12 students within a real laboratory setting. Participants complete the full scientific research cycle, including sample selection and preparation, conducting experiments, working with advanced equipment such as Carl Zeiss and Thermo Fisher Scientific, data analysis, interpretation of results, and the public presentation of their own mini-research project.
  • Program Format
The program combines a lecture-based component with interactive hands-on laboratory practice. Participants build a strong theoretical foundation, reinforce their knowledge through experimental work, and complete independent assignments designed to deepen understanding and systematize the material.
Who Can Apply?
